Robert Meyerson, MD is sports medicine fellowship trained
orthopedic surgeon with 33 years of clinical experience. He is double
board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in orthopedic
surgery, with specialty board certification in sports medicine. He is a
Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York Medical College
and previously at the Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Meyerson has held
numerous hospital appointments including Chief of Sport Medicine at New York
Downtown Hospital and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Associate Chief of
Sports Medicine at Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Center-Manhattan Division,
and Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He has
served as President of the Brooklyn Orthopedic Society, and Orthopedic
Residency Coordinator at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center where he has 30 years
of experience training future orthopedic surgeons. His practice focuses
on the conservative and surgical treatments of knee and shoulder injuries
including ACL and meniscal tears, multi-ligament knee injuries, patellar
instability, rotator cuff repair, gleno-humeral instability, AC joint
reconstruction, and fracture care.
Dr. Meyerson received his undergraduate degree from Columbia
University and his medical diploma from the State University of New York at
Downstate. He received his orthopedic training at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical
Center and then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Hospital for
Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Meyerson has presented his
orthopedic research at national meetings and has published articles in
peer-reviewed journals. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic
Surgeons and member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.
